About Marra Engineering

Benjamin Marra, P.E. LEED AP

bmarra@MarraEngineering.com

Ben has over 14 years of experience in the Design and Construction business as a lead engineer and project manager. A majority of those years have been in the private industry with local construction companies, a civil design firm, and a large engineering design firm. Personal work experience includes: Structural design of a 76,000 sq. ft. moment framed law enforcement building, 72,000 sq. ft. braced frame courthouse, 40,000 sq. ft. 4-story hospital renovation, & structural investigation of 24,000 sq. ft. warehouse with foundation wall & slab cracking. Ben has been responsible for the design and construction of projects totaling well over one hundred million dollars.

Brian LaRose, LEED AP

Brian has had an interest in everything mechanical since childhood – and has always been a “hands on” person. In 2004, Brian graduated from Buffalo State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Armed with a diploma and a desire to start a career, he secured a position as a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design and analysis for commercial, small commercial and residential systems. Brian also designs plumbing and electrical systems, and has a firm understanding of structural building principles. A member of the USGBC and a LEED AP, Brian has experience in energy efficient systems design, as well as consulting recommendations for existing buildings. The “hands on” personality trait continues through home renovation work on both his own home and investment properties.

Emily LaRose, BFA Interior Design & AOS Professional Chef

Emily has worked as a Professional Chef for 16 years prior to continuing her education in Interior Design at Sage College of Albany.  She has been in many student exhibits and worked on a 65,000 square foot commercial office building specifically designing with a sustainable concept in place.  The goal for designing is clear and concise; all designs must be environmentally friendly and leave a minimal carbon footprint in commercial and residential design.  Emily has found designing kitchens to be natural and familiar as she was a chef for so many years.  Functional, safe, and smart are all features to be defined in any space.  Currently, Emily works as an Interior Designer specializing in all phases of interior design from commercial to residential.
